Can Sleeping a Full 8 Hours Help With Weight Loss?

I only sleep about 4-5 hours per night, and I am trying to get to a point where i can sleep 8 hours. I heard lack of sleep can raise blood pressure and stress.

Does anyone know if there is a link between weight loss and sleep?
*****I AM NOT WANTING TO GO ON A DIET, I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS A LINK BETWEEN SLEEP AND WEIGHT LOSS****

What should I do? (sleep, diet, weight loss tips)?

I’m trying to lose weight. don’t answer telling me not to do anything or exercise because I’m not going to. its 1 am and last time i slept was yesterday at 2 for one hour, in the past two days I’ve lost six lbs and ate a Klondike bar, 5 pistachio nuts, and 2 coffees. would it benefit me more in weight loss if i stayed up one more day without eating or would i lose more if i went to sleep soon and then didn’t eat? and i have tons of crushed up diet pills that i was going to put in my drinks but it turns out they don’t mix.. and i cannot take pills because of past experiences, what are ways to get them into me?

        Sleep and weight loss issues?

How does sleep affect weight loss? I understand that 3,500 calories is equivalent to 1 lb. I have been working out so much lately, and I am stuck. I usually play tennis for 1 hr to 1.5 hrs(I run a lot playing because I am horrible and spend more time chasing the balls than hitting them), walk 2 miles, and then go to the gym for some more cardio and some weights. I am not eating more and I am definitely burning more calories than I take in. I don’t eat a lot of junk and sodium filled meals. I eat fruits and vegetables, but I almost never eat red meat (I will eat chicken and fish). It is not as if I am at my perfect weight. I usually sleep about 5 hours a day, some day more some days less. Could this be my problem? How can sleep make such a difference if weight loss and gain is based on calorie intake versus activity level? Also, I have gained weight rather quick in the past few months. I didn’t change anything, could there be something else wrong?
Also, I have had tests done before and blood and thyroid have come back normal. Should I get re-tested?

If I sleep late but sleep enough, will it affect weight loss?

I’ve always heard that not getting enough sleep will make someone gain weight.. I sleep late, like 1-3 AM but I wake up late too, like around 9-11 AM. So technically I get enough sleep. Will it affect weight loss? I sort of want to lose 10 pounds :P

Is eating yogurt before sleeping recommendable for weight loss?

Ok, I’ve been eating yogurt every evening for 3 years, 2-3 hours before i go to sleep. I eat mostly fruit yogurts, furthermore i drink a cup of whole/skimmed milk every morning at breakfast. I’ve started my weight loss schedule a month ago and i’ve been working with full of enthusiasm on it (working out 6 days a week).
So I was wondering if any of you has any idea…

            any hint is appreciated, thanks!

Does mild sleep apnea affect weight loss?

My husband was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea last year and has been trying to lose weight to help. He’s had no success. He started a construction job last march and has been eating better and has not lost one pound. We are trying to find out what could be causing the no weight loss after being working in such a labor intensive field..
              Any ideas?
