Could sleep deprivation result in a larger appetite?

I’m wondering if being deprived of sleep could result in someone eating more. The relationship sort of makes sense: sleep deprivation causes a lack of energy, which food can somewhat cure. However, it also sounds pretty ridiculous, and even if it was true I doubt it would be significant.

I’m looking for a scientific explanation as to why is it true/false, and what’s happening in the body. Please, don’t answer if you’re just going to say "When I sleep less, I eat a lot more!".

How do you explain to someone you’re getting to know intimately that you have a snoring problem??

Could someone who shouts in their sleep have a mental disorder?

I’m 20 and suffer from bad depression and agoraphobia i’ve never had a relationship and don’t have many friends, I’ve also been told i shout in my sleep a lot and sleep a lot during the daytime and stay up late, I’ve been told it could be Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia i don’t talk to myself or nothing like that, I can mumble to myself if i’m remembering something though?

Is insomnia common in the 1st trimester of pregnancy?

I haven’t been able to get adequate sleep for two weeks now and I’m 9 weeks pregnant. Is there any positive relationship between insomnia and early pregnancy? I have no nausea or vomiting, no urinary frequency so far. I am very tired during days but wide awake during nights. All non-medication methods of dealing with the sleep problem that I tried have been unsuccessful so far.

My girlfriend has a sleep disorder and is on Xyrem?

Her mood is in severe disaray. She is intolerant, gets downright mean, says everything I say is a putdown, and crys all the time. She never used to be like this. Does anyone have experience with this drug? Are these symptoms of Xyrem?? If I mention that it might be the drug she is on, she gets enraged. I am desperate for help!!! This is killing our relationship.

What are the best remedies for snoring?

I am in a relationship and snoring has become an issue. I love this woman with all of my heart, but she can’t handle my snoring. I feel powerless over this issue and horrible that she has to deal with it at all. Is there anything that I can do?
