Does anyone have any really good solutions for sleep loss?
Gradually over the last couple months I’ve been losing more and more sleep at night to the point of not getting any at all. I’ve tried multiple things: not drinking any caffeene, getting more excercise during the day, turning a radio on during the night, turning a fan on, reducing stress (well as much as I can being in high school), counting sheep, ect. Is there anything else I can try before consulting a doctor?

Sleep Products:
You can purchase melatonin tablets at any drugstore or Wal-Mart. Melatonin is the chemical in your body that kicks in when the sun goes down. Try to get the 300 mg tablets rather than 1 g as studies have shown them to be more effective. If you can only find 1 g then cut it in half.
Take a HOT bath within an hour of bedtime. Hot tubs are great.
If you have a sleeping partner get a foot massage.
get some over the counter sleep pills and use responsibly
Force yourself to get up at 6am. You will more than likely feel tired enough to sleep then.
force urself to get up early and dont take naps … do the same thing every day … eat/sleep/wakeup/exercize .. all at the same times … and also turn the pc off at a certain time every night
I would consult your doctor. I found outmyself I do not get good sleep by him ordering me a sleep study. It will catch up to you. What I noticed is that during the daytime when working at my computer I would just feel as though I could just pass out at any time. I tried coffee and sugar to help to try to stay awake. You may have sleep apnea. THis is what they determined I had for not getting good sleep. You need to get good sleep to maintain your health. I now wear a c pap mask and don’t fight my sleep and feel so well rested the next day. If this would continue though I’d see your doctor. Tried a nice warm bath before bed?
